The concept of “residence” at the Antica Fattoria La Parrina doesn’t just mean the various accommodation options, but all the spaces that join the different buildings together. Spaces where the balance between nature and man, between activities and relaxation in the Maremma is perfect, embodying a world that goes far beyond the classic concept of a holiday in Tuscany.  Starting with the small square that the main buildings of La Parrina look out onto: the Tuscan manor house, the little church, and the building housing the apartments, the farmhouse with the Shop. A haven of peace and quiet surrounded by nature, a place to enjoy breakfast or aperitifs. Then there’s the panoramic terrace on the second floor of the manor house, a place to lie in the sun and enjoy the unrivalled view over the Maremman landscape, gladdened by the breeze that blows in from the sea. Right underneath there’s a large garden belonging to the noble residence, bordered by Seville orange and kumquat trees and a portico whose style is typical of noble summer residences in Tuscany. All the architecture has preserved the discreet, warm, functional style of Maremman farms from the 1800s



The Rooms

On the door of each room you’ll find the name of the person who stayed there the longest in the past. Names that seem familiar but that are unknown at the same time; each one concealing a story to be guessed or perhaps to dream about. 

Behind the door, three welcoming types of accommodation: 

Class - Le Stanze degli Ospiti (the Guests’ Rooms), where renowned professionals and family members stayed who were asked to help develop the Antica Fattoria.

Prestige - Le Stanze dei Fabbriceri (the Churchwardens’ Rooms), rooms that originally provided long-term accommodation for specialists from outside called on to manage the Antica Fattoria’s key activities.

Junior suite – Le Stanze Illustri (the Dignitaries’ Rooms), that housed the owners of La Parrina or the most important public figures.

All located in the old manor houses, in the heart of the Fattoria La Parrina. All with the original 19th century furniture, large wooden-framed windows that let in plenty of light, and the intimate seriousness of the matter-of-fact times of our ancestors, where beauty and strong feelings were the hallmarks of everyday items too.

Apartments and Farmhouses

The Antica Fattoria La Parrina offers various accommodation options, with the same blend of timeless experience and time-honoured traditions that speak to us every time we open a chest of drawers or pick up an ornament.

The apartments in the farmhouse behind the farm’s church, with a view of the square and the surrounding hills, are totally independent, with fully-equipped kitchens and rooms with double beds

The variously sized farmhouses scattered across the Maremman estate are ideal for longer, or shorter, holidays in Tuscany and provide complete independence to anyone who wants to soak up the magical atmosphere of the noble countryside, full of things to do and brimming with farming culture, just as they are for anyone who wants to relax in a Maremman farm before setting off to explore their Tuscan surroundings.

The Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is in a secluded area of the farm and is a haven of peace and quiet surrounded by nature, yet just a stone’s throw from the two main residential buildings. It’s ideal if you want to have a different vantage point to look out across the surrounding fields and hills. A place where the essential elements of the Maremma – sky, water and nature – come together. With all the equipment and facilities you could need, it’s the perfect location for mixing relaxation in the Maremma with physical wellbeing and sociability.

The Bar

The most informal and sociable refreshment point is also the most obvious point of reference in the world of the Antica Fattoria. “Colonising” the square in front of it, which it looks out over, with its umbrellas and its prompt, courteous service, it’s the ideal place to meet up with friends or before setting off on trips and tours.

Don’t miss the adjoining tasting room in the Maremman farm’s old stables, where the vaulted ceilings and the reminders of its original calling that hang on the walls evoke a time when the horse was the most proud and noble means of transport.
